antivirus definitions

suppose after i download my new virus definitions this week i
encor a problem and have to uninstall and reinstall the whole antivirus
program. do i have to download and install all the Virus Definition updates
from the date the program was released or will the last set of definitions
do. thanks for your time

Normally, the latest update should do the trick.

Just keep running the updates until nothing else is shown as needed.
