Antivirus and Windows Mail

Hi:

I've read a number of posts and an internet article on antivirus software
causing conflicts in Windows Mail. Is this also true for Outlook Express,
Outlook, and other email programs as well?

I don't have any problems and wonder if I have just been one of the lucky
ones over the years (Norton A/V & OE, McAfee & WM).

You have been lucky. WinMail and Outlook Express do not like Norton or
McAfee. Not to mention they are both resource hogs.

No matter what AV program you use, it should be installed in Custom Mode and
e-mail scanning left unchecked.

I use Avast, (freeware) and it works fine.
