Anti-Virus "Splash Screen"

Hi, I downloaded and installed an anti-virus program named SUPERAntiSpyware,
version 4.0.1154. I need to stop the "splash screen" for the program from
loading. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Why? because it loads slow and Windows Live One Care will not load until it
finishes. Naturally this increases my boot/re-boot time.

Thank you

Disabling the spalsh screen, if possible, is unlikely to speed things up
This software has its specific Forum support, ask there.
Generally AV/Malaware apps that load on startup, will delay the startup
process & win may not be useable untill they have finally finished loading

The free version does not 'nag' with any splash screen.

The free version of SAS is an *on-demand* application.

You may wish to review you AS applications i.e. research the efficiency of
WLOC nad compare with freely available products.

The manufacturer can, if anyone can. It's specific to the program whether or
not it allows this, not to the operating system.

If you say so, WLOC might not load until SuperAntiSpyware has finished
loading, but I doubt that it actually waits for the *splash screen*
specifically (not even one care is that stupid and useless), rather it's
likely waiting for the program itself to load.

No splash screen only on pro version ( buy ) - one of many reasons why
I don`t use it .

Hello, thanks to all who replied. Just to update, I am using the free
version of SUPERAntiSpyware and the screen that comes up is not the nag to
buy or update program screen, but the program logo.

I havent tried, but removing it from start-up may work just as good and use
it on demand.

Also, I will google for a "SuperAntiSpyware forum".

Thanks again

Ah Ha!

An easy and safe way to so is to download AutoRuns for Windows
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

When scanning is completed (Ready) click the Logon tab, locate
SuperAntispyware and remove the check-mark; That's it.
Also, I will google for a "SuperAntiSpyware forum".

Several points:

1. As a general rule, the loading of a splash screen is very fast. The
reason it appears slow is that the program is doing something else
behind the scenes. So, disabling the splash screen would not speed up
the program's loading at all.

2. Even if still want to stop the splash screen from loading, do not
assume that you have that choice. It depends entirely on the program
and how it's written. It don't know for sure about this particular
program, but I'll hazard a guess that you can't do it.

The "free" version of SuperAntiSpyware uses the splash screen. In order to
get around it, they tell you that you must purchase the pro version.

The option to disable the splash screen is active only in the pro version.
Yes it does slow down the boot process I have mentioned it to Nick on
several occasions but I don't think they know how to fix it without
disabling it.
