Anti Spyware updates

S

Satriani

Hi a few days ago I downloaded the new version of
microsoft Anti spyware, which has an extended valid date
to 31/12/2005. The problem is that since then when I go
to update the spyware definitions, it updates from 5729
to 5731, it has done so for 3 days repeating the same
definition updates. How can I overcome this problem?
thanks in advance

The new version is buggy, it doesn't handle dates properly.
Mine is stuck in a loop on 5725 and 5731. It also shows that
it has run auto-update and scheduled scans and at the same
time it shows that no scheduled scans have yet happened.

Key word, BETA... this has been posted for some time and in
the next few weeks MS will no doubt release a .625 or what
ever new number is next in the sequence.

Shutdown MS AntiSpyware. Right click the following and "Save target as..."
http://download.spynet.com/ASDefinitions/gcDeterminationData.gcd

http://download.spynet.com/ASDefinitions/gcThreatAuditScanData.gcd

http://download.spynet.com/ASDefinitions/gcThreatAuditThreatData.gcd

Copy/paste these files to Program files/Microsoft Antispyware

Restart MSAS and "check for updates".

If you cannot download from these links, try again, but replaceing http://
with https://

I have other spyware programs running, I do not depend on
beta and I do want to see when the programmers fix the
glitches.

I'm waiting for 1.6xxx.x

Thanks...

Most of us uses more than one antispyware application, I suppose :)

I'm waiting for 1.6xxx.x

Thanks...

I await Beta 2, however ;-)

Whenever they fix the problem. Beta 2 will be nice, but
that may be just a new GUI to the working Beta 1.xxx
