Does anyone know if there is a problem running anti-spyware software
(e.g. yahoo toolbar) and Adobe Reader plug-ins? I'm running Adobe 5.0,
and am having a lot of trouble opening documents and printing ever
since I installed anti-spyware.

Are you saying you are using Adobe Reader v5.x ?

If so, remove Adobe Reader v5.x and install Adobe Reader v7.x

I don't think I can do that because I'm running Windows 98 (I typed
Windows ME before, sorry).

Not to sound harsh, but why are you posting a 98 question in an XP
group.

Adobe reader 5 works fine in most cases, the latest pop-up blockers MAY
cause it to not properly display the file when you click on it. You
could add the site to the NOT BLOCK list and then see if it works.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious. The Windows 98 group isn't
exactly jumping. I thought I might have better luck here.

Did you add the site with the PDF file to the unblock list in your tool?
If so, did that allow v5 to pull it up?

Yes I did. It usually lets me pull up the file, but it won't show page
numbers, and when I print sometimes it's just total jibberish. When I
shut down the computer, an Adobe error always comes up and crashes the
computer instead. Then when I restart, the computer gets stuck before
Windows loads, and the whole thing crashes.

I had wrongly assumed that since you are posting in WinXP News Group that you are using
WinXP. Do'h !

Follow my advice but change that to...
If so, remove Adobe Reader v5.x and install Adobe Reader v6.x

Additionally, here's where you should have posted. The following URL will take your default
News Client to the appropriate Win98 News Group.

No need to run anti-spyware 24.7. Just dont install spyware.

Thanks Dave. It's still not working. I think there might be greater
computer issues at work, and my boss just needs to replace the
computer. Also thanks for the link. The 98 discussion group on google
didn't exactly have a lot of activity, which is why I posted here.
