ant open doc files in email

Has anyone come accross the problem of not being able to open attachments in
email in windows mail with the file extension DOC, they will not open in
Microsoft Word or Microsoft Works, I have the latest edition of Office

Can you save the attachment and then open the saved file?

Make sure you have attachments enabled in Windows Mail:
Tools, Options, Security, uncheck "Do not allow attachments..."

Thanks Gary, but I have done all that and yes I can save the DOC attachment and then open it ok in Microsfot word it just wont open straight from the email I have the association set to Microsoft Word but it still wont open any more ideas? thanks Lyn
