I'm havin a hard time figuring out how to get SP2.

One of my desktops with xp pro has used it since beta, and I've stayed
consistent with windows update. How do I know if I am still using beta vs
release.

On 2 other machines, one pro one home, I've enabled automatic updates and
everything, yet they are still on SP1, the only thing I notice differnt is
on the automatic updates tab in sys props, it has the new shield graphics
etc.

Perhaps I should just install windowsxp-kb835935-sp2-enu.exe which I
downloaded from the ms site?

Okay, see, I thought that autoupdate was already distributing it. I'm just
gonna install using the download I got.

Any way to verify if my first machine has beta or release? Would it do any
harm to just install the exe I have, I dont see why, just wanna check.

Run Winver. If you have SP2 final it will say build 2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.

If you have that, use it. Much the most straightforward way to
install.
