Annoying Pop-ups

I am getting a plethora of Pop-ups even when nothing is
running, most deal with advertisments on how to stop them,
I am running Pop Up Stopper which works good on Internet
Explorer but these just pop up on my background or screen
saver. Other than buying the software which is advertised
by the annoying message type units with no routing or ID
how can I stop them? Thanks
 
Are these Popups like system Alert messages? If so you could try disabling
the Windows Messaging service
 
Download a popup killer, most are free. Just do a search
in google for "free popup".
