Annoying Pop-up message won't go away!!! I Hate it

Hello,
Is it just me or is anybody else getting an annoying little pop-up message
from "hp system recovery manager" invading their desktop screen every time I
log on. It's a reminder to create disks with three options ..yes, no, later
and no matter which option I select it doesn't go away. It doesn't do
anything it just sits there. Sure I can drag it off screen but this is
starting to become hugely tedious every time I log on. Besides it's spoiling
my lovely desktop wallpaper. I can't be the only one?
Thank you

Hello,

in [Windows-key] + R -> msconfig.exe -> Startup you can decide which program
should load at startup.
Additionally, you could look into your Start menu -> All programs -> Startup
if the program has its link there, and delete it.

Greetings,

Why don't you just make the recovery disks. Hp, Acer, etc put the recovery
folders in a hidden partition on your hard drive.

You need them if you crash your OS to take it back to factory standards. In
other words, the way you bought it.

Once to make the disks, you can delete them from your hard drive.

Hello, P. Di Stolfo, Thanks for your reply, much appreciated unfortunately
your suggestions made no difference and so I soldier on. Cheers.

Hey there Mick,
Thanks for your swift reply and offer of solutions. Guess what? Well
failing everything else I thought I'd try deleting etc as you suggested and I
got half way through the process when I had to cry off (the recovery manager
'wizard' said that's ok we will pick up back at this point when you resume)
and do you know what..the nasty little pop-up has now gone! Hurrah! Early
days I know, fingers crossed and all that but thanks again for your
suggestions which led me down the path of hopefully solving the issue. I will
now return and rate this solution as to close the thread and give you your
dues. Cheers Andlie

You do realize, one hopes, that this is -not- a "Vista" issue, right?
