Annoying ads

Hi everyone,

I recently clicked on a link that I thought at the time
was harmless. However, after I clicked it, my browser's
home page changed to some advertisement that I do not want
as my home page. I've tried going to Tools > Internet
Options > Change Homepage... it changes, but when I close
the browser and try to open the browser again or when I
restart my computer, the advertisement is still there.

Does anyone know how I can permanently rid of this??
