Can I ask where do you find .announcements? I was directed to
privatenews.microsoft.com from the Beta program, but I don't know how to
access this other thing. Presumably lots of other folk like me don't and so
miss any announcements. Maybe this is why we keep asking the same
questions!

Click on the Newsgroups button if you are running Outlook Express and choose
microsoft.private.security.spyware.announcements > subscribe > ok

In Microsoft Antispyware, go to Help, Support newsgroups on the web.

In the left column, choose Announcements.

However, I agree with Andre that using an NNTP newsreader such as Outlook
Express will be both easier and more effective for many people.
Instructions for setting up these groups in such a newsreader are in the top
right panel which you see first at the above reference. You need to scroll
down a bit, and theres a password involved, but once set up it is very much
like using email.
