[announce] Best of Freeware Updated.

John Hood

The "Best of Freeware" site http://www.jhoodsoft.org has gotten an
update again!

You can now see exactly what has been nominated, what's been accepted,
what's been rejected and why. I also put on an alpha index of all
software listed so you can skip the category thing. The list of pages
more closely match the way Windows Start menu is structured.

In the next few weeks I'll be putting together a "Tips" page with
documents on the most useful MS Office and Windows tips that I've
found.

I'd be interested if the "List of Nominations" page shows you "As of
Jun 20, 2004" at the top under the introduction. Some people have
said they aren't getting page updates without manually reloading, and
I may have messed up the "expired" meta-tag. If you see the date,
it's working. It works for me, but...

Thank you for the bandwidth,

John H.

Interesting site John. Looks like a lotta work to me! :)

Hey, is TextShield still in development? It used to be a favorite, then I
ran into Atlantis Nova. What a sweetheart!

You should also try "Splitting". It's a flawless little splitter that works
from the SendTo menu.

Bob:
Yes, a lot of work, but a labor of love! :)

Textshield is still around that I know of, got a recommendation from a
visitor Mike555, who turned me on to it.

I was crazy for Atlantis Nova until I tried running spellcheck (Rats!
They want money!) I HAVE to have spellcheck. I can't spell worth a hoot.

I'l definately check out Splitting, I have Hjsplit and Splitter in test
now. I don't know if I'll come out with a "Best" they all seem pretty good.
