Annotating slide in presenter view advances to next slide

D

Doug Fraser

I'm running Powerpoint 2007 on a Fujitsu tablet PC.
When I run it with a projector or second monitor in presenter
view, attempting to annotate a slide causes the presentation
to advance to the next slide. -- apparently having been seen
as a mouse click.

Thanks for any assistance you guys can provide

Presenters view normally does not give you the ability to change the slides,
so it thinks you must want to advance.

When you use Presenters view (with a PPTX file) there are actually 3 views
open, Presentation, Edit and Presenters. The edit view is open behind the
presenters view. This is shown clearly if you have the option set for
multiple task buttons in the Task pane. Try changing to the edit pane
before trying to add your notes, then everything should work as expected.
You will need to manually re-enter presenters view after making your
changes, by clicking on the resume Slideshow button.
