Animation Stutter

I'm building a presentation which has a graph which I want to animate as it
has a different number of series which I want to discuss individually but
compare overall. The problem is I'm using a wipe, and the slide title
animation stutters. Now I realize that its alot of data, however and this is
my gripe, I've got a computer with 2 gigs of ram, a 1.5 ghz cpu with a 32 meg
quadro 2 mx vid card. I build computational grids used in cfd on this
machine, I even run 2D computational fluid dynamics solutions on this
machine. Why does powerpoint have such problems running animations?
