Animation losts when edited or ungrouped

Hi there,
There was a custom animation for a grouped object. I want to resize the
entire group object when it comes to my template. I ungrouped the object and
aligned the font size, colors and object size and deleted unwanted object in
that group which I can do only by ungrouping. BUT unfortunately i found the
animation is erased. Ungrouping the animated objects results in loosing the
animation?? If so, can anybody suggest me the option of retaining the
animation and editing the grouped object. Otherwise I have to ungroup, delete
the unwanted object or do edits and regroup and again give the same
parameters of the animation. I hope there will be another alternative to
retain the animation and edit the grouped object. Is there any?? Pls help as
I have many files to import to my template and edit the objects.

I think you will find that if you edit or ungroup then you are in essence
deleting the original object and therefor the animation. Hope I'm wrong!
