animation finished when stepping back through slides

When I step back or re-display from a menu slide my PP 2000 slides (which
include a different autostart sound file on each slide) do not autostart the
sound and all the other animation has 'finished' .. Help!

This is the way PowerPoint normally works. When you revisit a slide you
come back to the "end" of the slide. Try linking back to a blank slide just
before the one you want. Set it's Slide Transition to automatically
transition after "0" seconds. That way it will immediately go to the
desired slide "at the beginning of the slide".

Hi Bill,

That's a great solution for presentations when the full PowepPoint package
is resident. However, when packaging for CD, and therefore utilizing the
PowerPoint viewer, trying to "replay" the slide using this technique hangs on
the blank slide with 0 seconds slide transition time. Since VBA can't be used
with this "platform," I've resorted to packaging 2 copies of the presentation
to the CD. Then, when calling for a replay, the "other" copy of the
presentation at the slide in question is executed. It's UGLY, and I'm open to
any solution that is more programatically elegant.
