The ability to display an animated desktop in XP was called "Active
Desktop". Active Desktop does not exist in Vista since it was a security
hole. Therefore you can't set the desktop animation natively. There may
be third-party programs that would give you an animated desktop. A safe
and good place to look for Windows visual enhancements is www.wincustomize.com, so you might want to check there if this function
is important to you.
Vista is an UPGRADE.. now you have to pay more for upgrading to Vista
ultimate to have better animated wallpapers (called dreamscene)that take
you all your CPU so you cant do anything else!
At least its like having a nice screensaver UNDER your icons...
