Animated gifs

I am running XP-Home, have a web site and all of a sudden
the Animated Gifs are NOT animated anymore. They work in
Windows Graphic and fax viewer But not in the Browser.

I have reloaded IE6 and the updates, and am wondering if
IE makes them animated or some other program?

Anyone have any suggestions ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, cleaning out your Temp Internet Files folder. Do this by opening IE, then click on "Tools", then "Internet Options", and then clicking the "Delete Files" button. Also check the box "Delete All Offline Content" as well, then retry.

You may have turned off the animation in IE; try checking out Tools >
Internet Options > Advanced. Scroll down until you see the Multimedia
section. Look for "Play animations in web pages" and make sure that the box
is checked. Once you've checked the box, click OK twice to close out of
Internet Options, and try viewing an animated gif. HTH.

Thanks Tony, Checked it, was ok, thought I had, so not
sure what the problem is.

Thanks again for the reply

So, you've checked the box and you still do not see any animations?
Activating this setting might require you to restart your browser, so if you
have not yet done so, I would suggest trying it to see if you regain
animation. Also, does any other browser show the animation? If you have
Opera, any version of Netscape, FireFox, etc., you may want to fire it up
real quick and make sure you are able to view the animation at all.

This might sound pointless, but who knows... if the box was checked when you
looked at Internet Options, you may want to uncheck it, click Apply, then
check it and click Apply again.

Keep us posted.
