Animated Gifs and Place holders

I have 2 problems:
I'm having some problems with animated gifs. Sometimes
when I receive them they are animated, but when I forward
then they appear as an attachment at the top and the
recipient says they are no longer animated. Is there a
setting for this?
Today I received an animated gif as an attachment that
opened with my graphics program and it wasn't animated,
but I forwarded it to my work computer and it was
animated there. What's going on?

Also, When I receive an email that has pictures in it,
they sometimes appear as attachments at the top with
place holders where the picture belongs. What do I do to
get them to appear in the body of the email?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Carol

The sender controls the pacement of the images, not the receiver. In order
for you to see them in the body of the message, the sender must embed them
there.
