animated gif

I have creatred animated gif in imageready to run once. They load in
powperpoint but only the first frame shows. If I set them in
imageready to run twice or loop indefinately save them as gif and load
them in powerpoint they work. The problem only occurs when they are
set to run once

I hate to have to make them avi since it means I cannot embedded them
image in the presentation but nedd to keep external files

Do you use PowerPoint 2003? Unfortunately it has a bug regarding animated
GIFs. It subtracts -1 from the number of iterations. So your solution to set
them to run twice is the only thing you can do.

You'll need to set the loop flag to loop and set the iterations to 1.

Actually, that isn't what my test results show at
http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/animated_gifs/gifs.htm and
http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/animated_gifs/testresults.xls.
I found that for PowerPoint 2003 the loop flag must always be set and the
iterations flag must be set to the number you want unless you want it to loop
endlessly and then the iterations flag should be 0(zero). It is PowerPoint 2002
that subtracts 1 from the iterations flag.
