animate a curved line or arrow, etc. being drawn

REQUEST: Please consider adding the ability to animate a curve, line, arrow,
etc. being drawn on a slide from one end to the other at a selected speed.

Currently, one must create the curve in multiple segments and use the wipe
animation to get a crude approximation of this effect. It should be a simple
thing to have the object drawn in an animation at a selected rate from the
beginning of the line to end.
