I am trying to animate a chart in 2007 and want a bar to grow and stay at
that size when clicked on during the slide show. The grow and shrink effect
is the only one I can see that does anything like it, all the other effects
are greyed out. can this be done?

Thanks in anticipation

The "Grow" animation will not only make the bar longer, but expand it in all
directions. What I would do is to insert a rectangle which is the same color
as the bar, but longer. And animate that in using the "Wipe" effect.

Best regards,
Ute

I have drawn a rectangle on the chart and can select it, but the custom
animation add effect is greyed out, why is this do you think?

What if you draw the rectangle on the slide, not in the chart?
