animated bars for powerpoint chart

hi all- this is a excel/powerpoint question really.
I have a very simple % bar chart with 22 vertical bars ranging in values.
I'd like to animate the bars to all 'grow' up to 100% (and some music plays)
any ideas??
thanks, Theo.

Hi Theo

Add a Wipe entrance and set the direction to 'from bottom'. Then click the
down arrow next to the animation -> effect options -> chart animation and
you can control how the bars come in (all at once, one-by-one, etc).

If you need more details, please be sure to include your version in your
reply.

thanks Lucy.
I have now got a slide with the bars at varying levels and a second slide
with all levels at 100%. this way I can use a 'wipe up' to reveal the second
slide, giving the inpression that the bars all 'grow'. problem now is speed.
I cannot have slower than 'slow' I'd like to add a 'super slow' option as it
where. The problem with using the chart animations is the chart restarts,
i.e. grows from 0 not the previous bar height...any other suggestions? cheers

Hi again- when we come to the slide the initial level is already there- and
varied across the bars. when the slide is advanced, all bars then grow slowly
upto 100% from their existing position.
but- your suggestion of two positions would also work. One work around i
have got is a set of white bars cutting off the upper portion of a 100% bar
to create the illusion of a slower bar. the animation then 'exit wipes' the
white boxes up (all starting at differing levels) to reveal all at 100%. but
it is a workaround. always keen to hear of better ways..thanks very much for
your help

How about creating it as a stacked 100% bar chart then animating by Series?
Oh, and you can change the time to anything you want by typing into the
speed box on the timing tab then hitting enter.
