Android calendar

Do any of you use a device running Android for a calendar app that's
synchronised with your Google calendar? Does sync actually work? With mine
sync always down.

I noticed that sync from the desktop Google calendar to the android
phone works.... I've not tried sync in the other direction.

Thanks, Charlie. How do you do a sync from Google?

Robin,

Well, I'm an Android novice, my first Android device is only a couple
of weeks old. I already had a google account set up on my desktop, so
I just linked to it on the Samsung Galaxy SII phone, and pressed the
sync icon on the phone when in range of my home WiFi network, and the
sync happened. I don't have a clue as to how to attempt it from the
desktop computer, but I'm guessing that it is possible. Maybe I'll ask
my daughter next time she's home... she had a Motorola Android phone
for a while.

Thanks. I'm pretty new to Android, too, on a tablet. When I click on sync the
tablet always tells me that sync is temporarily unavailable. Wi Fi is working
fine, so I dunno!

OK, I just entered a new item on the calendar on the desktop, then
went to the phone and synced, and it showed up on the phone calendar.
I don't know how it works, but I'd suspect you don't have the google
account set up on your phone or on your computer.

I then deleted the entry from the phone calendar, and synced again,
expecting to see it disappear from the computer calendar. It didn't,
so I reloaded the calendar and it was then gone.

But I don't see any way to initiate a sync from the computer.... it
looks like that can only be done from the phone.

( At least I'm learing a bit here )

Good. I've done something useful today. The Google calendar is set up OK, but
when I sync from the tablet it always tells me sync is temporarily unavailable.
