and we pay their salaries?

I would just like to know how is it that you can have a feature such as
"speech recognition" in an earlier version of your Office Suite (2003) and
not have it in the NEW AND IMPROVED OFFICE 2007?
How can you make such disastrous decisions which affect thousands and
thousands of loyal Microsoft customers?
What about all of the disabled individuals that have come to rely on you for
this feature?
What about all of us who spent countless hours training on our systems so we
could improve the product and had become somewhat acquainted on how to use
the commands in order to navigate through it.
You are like the crab that is going sideways or backwards after giving a
step forward. It is hard to defend your reputation against all of the people
who don’t like Microsoft products because of the FLAGRANT lack respect you
showed us in making this decision.
Call me hypocrite but I feel that this is just one more way to try to make
the public continue to support Microsoft’s revenue by making us go out and
by Windows Vista (which does have the speech recognition). I don't have
$199.00 to spend on yet another Microsoft application especially when the one
that was working for me no longer does.
I have been a loyal Microsoft customer since the early days of MS-DOS and
have gone through all of your products. I have been a beta tester and helped
with the up's and down's of the previous products. I remember that I even
had to pay to obtain the beta products!
But I would like to know why am I supposed to pay for the salaries of those
who don’t show any respect for their customers?

I really cannot begin to tell you how upset that decision has made me. I
don't know who the genius is that made that decision but it has ruined
thousands of people’s lives who will now have to go and spend money on
something that they already had enjoyed using and mastering.

I hope you relay this information to your BRILLIANT decision makers.

Your rant is misdirected here - this is a user peer group forum and I doubt
that anyone from Microsoft even looks in.

If you were happy with 2003, why did you change to 2007? The change was not
compulsory and you could have worked quite happily with the program you knew
for many years to come. There are many people out there still using Office
97 on Windows 98!

If you were interested in influencing the decisions Microsoft took in its
software development, you could have involved yourself, so no use whingeing
if it didn't come out as you expected.

Microsoft has been working on Vista for a number of years as an operating
system platform to take advantage of advances in hardware and software. It
is not surprising therefore that its new application software should work in
harmony with that operating system.

If you don't like Microsoft and its products, then buy one of the
alternatives - no one here gives a f****!

I didn't know you worked for Microsoft
Sorry to have hurt your feelings.
However, when a large organization such as Microsoft makes such stupid
decisions it has a moral obligation to the community it serves.
I know that this is a community forum and not a suggestion box for MS.
However this is where I choose to share my frustrations with my fellow users.
I upgraded to 2007 because I trusted the information provided by Microsoft.
After all I have been a customer for them for many versions past.
Overall the 2007 suite is good but I do miss the additional function of
speech recognition and have no way to purchase any additional software at
this time.
Is that ok with you?

Read the first sentence of my earlier post.!

Microsoft does not have any moral obligation to the community - and
certainly not to you as an individual. What you see as a stupid decision,
they see as a sensible progression. If you had 'trusted the information
provided by Microsoft' then you would have known that the speech recognition
tools had been moved to Vista - but instead you made an impulse purchase (I
take it you did buy the software) of a product that you didn't need and
which will not do what you want. I don't see how Microsoft can be blamed for
your short sightedness. Caveat Emptor!
