Anchor Symbol

I'm working in a legal document and have an anchor symbol that appears in my header when I hoover of a logo. What is it and how did it get there? How do I turn it off? Does it relate to have the logo appear IN FRONT of a border line (which is behind the logo)

Thanks for any assistance.

It is the object anchor which displays the objects anchor
point. In your case the object is anchored in the header.

The anchor shows you to which paragraph your picture is attached. It will
not print or affect your document in any other way. I find it useful to see
where my pictures are attached because if you delete a paragraph that has an
anchor next to it, it means a picture will be deleted as well... But it
should only display when you select the picture, not merely hover on top of
it, unless there is a setting for this that I am unaware of.

If you really really want to hide the anchors, go to Tools > Option > View
Tab and in the Page and Web view section, uncheck the "anchor" checkbox.

Salut!
