An unknown error occured when attempting to open the database part 2?

I am having a similiar problem and have tried all suggestions available. I
have read and tried nearly all of the info in this thread:

I have turned on logging for client side extensions and am getting no
additional info. The event 1000 shows all policy applied successfully.
Where is the difinitive resource for troubleshooting this critical
function/subsystem? There seems to be little information about how to
troubleshoot problems with the security database/engine. Why is this such a
black hole when its function is paramount to implementing security in W2K
and above?

This is an internet facing server that has been harded with a modified
version of the hisecweb.inf. I really need to get this functioning in order
to be sure that this system is secured. Where can I find information on
exactly how this subsystem functions and what its dependencies are? Where
can I find specifics on how to modify/remove conflicting information from a
local policy when the system is in this state? Help????

I know this sounds like a rant, but I have been working on this problem for
a couple of days now, and thats way to long for a security problem. Since
this seems to be a common theme I am suprised that there is not an area of
documentation dedicated to this.

Could you post the text of the recurring events you are seeing? As the
threads below mentioned, there are a few permutations of this event sequence
that this could be.
