An email recieved by someone Date: May 10th 2007 Relation to this microsoft community?

I received an email enclosed in attachment, file name resume. email address
is maybe Russian. If anyone has information on how this person got my email
address, please let me know. I entered into this community one time in the
past. I have posted one time.

Hi Eric

Can you be certain this group is responsible for the email?

Your name is shown at the top left of every post you make and if someone
clicks on your name then your profile is shown - along with your email
address.

Some people don't enter an address while others enter an obviously invalid
address or one that can't be automatically harvested.

it says at the bottom of his cv where he got your email
(your email is above....)

the bloke seems a bit desperate if he's spamming random usenet posters (ok,
from this newsgroup)

And you're going to get even more after this message is harvested.
There are programs that continually scan newsgroups looking for e-mail
addresses.
NEVER, EVER include your real e-mail address when posting to any
newsgroup. I suggest you 'munge' your email address right now so that
future news group postings will not open you up to even more spam, or
worse.
