Hi can anyone help. When I turn on my computer I get a
message that I have 6 days to activate windows I followed
the troubleshooter but when I got there there was no
activate windows button when I tell it yes it doesn't do
anything just dissapears. I'm using windows xp home
edition 2001 I think. I had this computer made for me
about a year and a half ago then asked the guy that made
it to put xp on it about 4 or 5 months ago. What do I do
now? And does this mean my cmputer will crash if I don't
activate it or I can't?

You have to get it activated. Some software you put on may have damaged
files related to activation. Go to Start - Run and run the two lines

regsvr32 licdll.dll
regsvr32 regwizc.dll

Then
Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Activate Windows
Be connected to the net before trying the 'Activate on Internet now.

If it does not work (it should take about 20 seconds and say it is now
activated) then try the alternative 'activate by phone', which will give
you a toll free number to call and swap one long number for another - 5
minutes or so
