Can anyone shed som light on this. I bought an AMD XP 2000 chip
on Ebay but it does not say XP on the chip. Are there 2 makes of the
2000 chip and can you tell by all the numbers on the chip, which model
it is ?

You mean an AMD Athlon XP.

Some things cheap on eBay, but I would recommend against buying
hardware on eBay. You can get brand new OEM hardware on
ZipZoomFly/NewEgg/wherever cheaper than on eBay. As far as I can
tell, eBay's hardware prices are a rip off most of the time.

I think that NewEgg has nice descriptive pictures of OEM CPUs you
can go look at their web site. Be sure to bookmark it.

Others might have better answers.
