Alternate 4 Adobe Acrobat Distiller

Is there any freeware alternate for the one in the subject ?

YES. I got tired of Distiller not working. So I visited Pricelesswarehome
and found PDFCreator. Worked like a charm. I am very impressed! No more
problems with Distiller. It is 10377 KB, but I don't mind a big download to
be able to print to PDF reliably.

Ghostscript with a command something like:

C:\gs\gs7.04\bin\gswin32 -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -sOutputFile=out.pdf -
sPAPERSIZE=a4 -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH out.ps

will convert postscript to PDF format.
The command above reads out.ps and writes to out.pdf
The Ghostscript generated files are larger than the
equivalent Distiller files
