Altec Lansing Incompatable with XP Home?

I have tried to use Altec lansing model ACS340 speakers
with subwoofer with XP Home and have been told by Dell
that they are incompatable and there is no driver or fix
for it. The altec speakers model ADA215 work fine. Does
anyone know of a solution to the problem?

I assume that you speakers plug into your sound card...? If that is the case
your speakers don't use drivers of any sort. Sounds like your new speaker
amp is bad. But if these are USB, then that is different but you gave no
info.

The speakers are connected by USB, sorry I did't indicate
that originally. Any suggestions?

I would try, go into the device manager and uninstall the USB and reboot.
