Allowed Item List Missing the Allowed Items

Hello

I've read other threads but not always the answer I need. Have run scans
under RTP and read that it may not show the allowed list, so I unchecked RTP
and rescanned. Both procedures still had a blank allowed list. I am using a
laptop for personal use so am the administrator and logged in as such. What
else do I need to do to enable the allowed list to appear. I've read as much
as possiible on the website, but whatever I have tried does not work. I must
be missing something. Needless to say I need to uncheck a program that I
missed and it happens to be a virus -- the downloader2.AHC in the windows
system32. I'm hoping that if I can quarantine this item, my problem will be
gone.

Thanks to all who try to help!

in tools/ (scroll down till you see Advanced Options.
It will say "Do not scan these files or locations" click ADD
find the file you do not want WD to scan (which is basically an "Allow"

I also have seen nothing in the Allow list since I started as a beta
This is very confusing and I have stated this many times in here

Hi Roam,

Let me help set expectations. In its current version, Windows Defender does
not put unknown items on the allowed list. (Unknown items are those that
show up with a blue question marked icon next to them when they're
detected).

And just to make sure I'm understanding your problem so I can better help
you, can you clarify the following ?

You mentioned in your email, "Needless to say I need to uncheck a program
that I missed and it happens to be a virus -- the downloader2.AHC in the
windows system32."

Could you elaborate a little on what you meant when you said you missed the
program?

Did you, at some point, when downloader2.AHC was detected by Windows
Defender, select "Always Allow" as the action to be taken?

Thanks!
