Allowed application change question

Are there any plans to allow users the option to allow,
or block, applications that are allowed to run in the
registries run section? All we seem to get is a system
tray pop up notice that it's allowed...or perhaps it's
that MSAS makes it's own choice?...I can't recall
honestly. I know I've seen some pop up notices with the
option and other times no option is present. I'd prefer
to be the one to make this choice at all times.

There's another thread on this theme going at the moment.

The current design of the product is that if the product is "green
flagged"--i.e. it is listed as a known spyware-free (note that important
dash!) product, it won't be blocked--even if you have chosen to block or
block always via system explorers. Quicktime is a case in point, for
example.

This is the place to request design changes or enhancements, but as
presently designed, the product doesn't allow the user to make arbitrary
preference choices about what the product will prevent from installing.

If this is the current plan then I don't agree. How
about an option to allow user intervention or allow MSAS
to decide? If user elects to allow himself the ability
to make the choice he'd then still be presented with a
recommendation in the pop up notice but can now make his
own choice. I like this idea! Ohh and for the
record....I don't allow Quicktimes's qttask.exe or Real
Players realsched.exe to load. Useless junk, the Active-X
control takes care of my surfing needs.
