Allow editing directly in cells

In Excel 2007, if I remove the click from the box, “Allow editing directly in
cellsâ€, it remains valid only for that session of MS Excel. It reappears
after I close and reopen Excel. pls help.

I can't duplicate this problem, it works fine for me. What service pack are
you using, SP1?

If you open a second instance of Excel the attribute will not apply.
