All Windows Scroll to Bottom of Page

Jeff Oliver

This question was asked by wjb earlier, but due to this issue I am not able
to get to his question to respond.
I to have a couple of sudden, strange problems that started recently and
have got progressively worse to the point that I can do little work.
Getting to the point where sending this e-mail is a challenge.

1. If in any program where a pane's contents are more than fits in the
visible pane, it automatically scrolls all the way down. If I drag the
scroll bar to the top, it again moves all the way down. In my case, if
there is a horizonal scroll bar it will also scroll all the way to the
right.

2. I am experiencing this same problem also: I'm entering this message via
Windows Mail. I tried using IE, but in addition to having problem 1 above,
when I try to sign into my passport, as soon as I try typing in my password,
it will switch windows back to the one where I had opened the MS Vista forum
page.

I used the suggestion to do a SFC (System File Checker) Scan and it shows
no issues with any Windows Resource Protection files.

I'm running Vista Business SP1. And have been for the past year with no
problems. Please help as I cannot get anything done while Vista is behaving
this way.

Thanks

No one knows what "wjb" wrote because you are not posting on a real forum as
you think you are and you didn't quote any of the thread to which you are
replying. You are using a web interface that leeches Usenet posts and most
of the rest of us are using real newsreaders. We don't see what you do. If
you want to participate in Usenet, the better way is to set up a
newsreader. This is very easy to do and I'll give you information about
that at the end of my reply, after my suggestions for your particular
problem.

1. The First Question Of Troubleshooting: If the problem is new, what
changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't?

2. Using a mouse? Try a different one.

3. Using a touchpad? Update the touchpad drivers (get them from the laptop
mftr.'s website) and/or try a different mouse.

Please post back with the answers/results to those three points for further
help.

And here is information about setting up a newsreader. This is very easy to
do. If you prefer to use a forum, then here are two excellent ones:

Since you are using a web interface, you may not realize that this is really
a newsgroup. You will get far more out of this resource if you learn to use
a newsreader. There are many good newsreaders for Windows, but you can use
Outlook Express (XP) or Windows Mail (Vista) since you already have it.

Addendum: Upon re-reading your post, I see that you are using Windows Mail
as a newsreader and not a Usenet leecher as I originally thought. So you
can ignore the extra verbiage about using a newsreader, although referring
to a post that people may not see any more (having marked their newsreaders
to only view unread threads perhaps, as I do) and not quoting any of it
still isn't a Good Thing.

I'll look for your answers to the questions I asked about your issue before
going further with troublshooting.

I know what you're talking about because that exact thing happens to
me occasionally. It hasn't happened to me in quite some time.

I never figured it out, but if I restarted, it stopped.
