All Sony Cyber Shot Owners Look Here!!

Hi

I wanted to start a post for all Sony Cyber Shot owners
where we can post our problems and if there are any fixes
that has worked for us. I thought it would make it easier
for people to search also.

My problem is that when I connect the camera the new
hardware wizard comes up and when I search for drivers it
does not find any. I have tried all the reg fixes, tweak
UI...etc.. nothing has worked. I have also tried calling
Sony and they are puzzled as well. And no it does not
come up under removable storage either.

I had similar problem, with camera not recognised by
computer. Seting USB mode to PTP (setup menu on camera)
solved instantly.

PTP works!!!! I had been having the same problem and I
actually thought my camera was the problem, went out and
bought another Sony Cybershot and it didn't work either.
I didn't feel comfy going in and changing registry
settings, etc, but changing the PTP worked like a charm!
No problems here now. It is definitely something in the
XP SP1. My computer was finally able to download it after
months of not being able to and that's when our problem
started.
