All programs save to Desktop?

I can't figure out why all my programs want to save everything to the
desktop instead of to the default folders where I used to save them. Can
anyone tell me what happened? TIA.

Can you try elaborating your problem, please. Is this a problem with
Internet Explorer when you try downloading files?
