all programs menu

Hi, i was fiddling around with my programs and the files as i had found viruses on my computer (but could not clean/delete the files as they were 'in use') but now when i place the pointer over the 'all programs' menu in my start menu, nothing comes up?! i cant access my other programs... ?

what have i done?? can some-one please shed some light to this before my dad finds out!!!
 
You may have deleted the shortcuts. Check your Recycle bin. Double
click it. Check it for folders called "Start Menu" or "Programs" . If
they are there, right click them and choose Restore.
You may also have deleted them as individual files. If this is the
case you will need to select all the program names you recognize and
restore them.
