all programs menu items stop responding

this has happened on both my work and home computer lately.
if i click start, any menu item off there works as long as it
doesnt open up a secondary menu. if i move the cursor
over a secondary menu, the menus just close and i have to
move the cursor back over the start button to reopen. if
i select all programs, that menu stays open, but you cant
click or select anything within it. i've killed the explorer
process and restarted and that doesn't fix the problem. i've
only been able to fix it by rebooting. i've noticed this cropped
up shortly after installing the party poker client, though i
didn't think an errant application would cause this sort of
thing. i'm running xp pro w/sp2 and am up to date on
all hotfixes installed via windows update. thanks for any
ideas.

Rob,

I think you should learn how to respect other people first.

I also think System Restore will always help us resolve some issues which
occur suddenly ASAP

It is clear that the issue appears first time after you install a kind of
software "party poker client", so why don't you uninstall it first and then
try to see whether the issue still exist?

Also, System Restore can help you uninstall the software ASAP.

And since Party Poker installs spyware, a thorough cleaning after
uninstalling the program is called for:
