I posted this a couple of days ago but all I received was rhetoric and not
whether a solution is available:

Start> All Programs>

Vista: Single programs are listed in Ascending order first, THEN folders,
(in the middle of the list) in ascending order

This is NOT how every previous Windows version was set up. All other
versions were listing the Folders first, ascending order, and then single
files/programs. You could also Right Click and select ascending or descending
order. This option is NOT listed now.

IS there a way to make my All Programs display with the Top Level Folders
listed first, in ascending order, then single file/programs?

Yes, but AFAIK you have to set it up manually. First, clear the "Sort All
Programs by name" check box in the Start menu's properties:

right-click on Taskbar > Properties > Start Menu tab > hit the Customize
button > clear the "Sort All Programs by name" check box > click OK etc.
etc.

Now you can manually drag and drop the menu's various listings. They should
stay where you leave them.
