all my pics are converted to VBScript file

Kia Ora, All my pics are stored safely for two days and then convert to VBscript file and I can no longer access them. What does this mean? I have XP and a two year old computer. Why can I not hold the photos as JPEG for any length of tiime, and can I restore the lost pictures somehow?

Pictures are gone. However other file types are recoverable (such as MP3). You have the loveletter virus.

Jpeg files are destroyed (the virus replaces the picture) but other filetypes are only renamed to vbs and can be renamed back.

As David Candy says...you have a virus.

You need to run a full system virus scan using the
most recent definitions immediately.

Once you have removed the virus from your system...
There is a free download at the following link that
tries to recover lost files...I do not know if it works
but it may be worth a try.
