pics from 98SE saved as .DAT files

I burned some pics onto a CD when I had Windows 98 as my OS. All of my CD's are viewable inside of XP except for 2. They keep coming up as .DAT files. Is there some simple way to convert my pics back to JPEG files from DAT files? I've tried using a program that my printer came with but to no avail.

I do not know if the following info will solve
your problem but it may be worth a look:

(321640) CD-ROM Drive May Not Be Able
to Read a UDF-Formatted Disc in Windows XP

Free...Adaptec UDF Reader Driver 5.1.1.213

Also, there is a download called WMDecode
at the following link that may be able to convert
your files.

Please let us know what the solution was
once you discover it.

They sounded promising but my images weren't converted using the software downloads you had suggested. I'm trying everything and nothing is working. I'm getting so frustrated. I hope you, or someone else, have another suggestion. I'm not giving up. Thanks John.

Sorry, but that's all I have. Hopefully
someone else will have the answer.
