All my personal setting gone afer log off in the office

yesterday, after work in the office with wireless conection, and turn off the
laptop when i believe the wifi was enable, I am unable to log on again within
my personal setting being offline (i do not have posibility to go back to the
office up to next wednesday)

after write user and pasword, a pop-up message ::

Logon protector information
A domain controller for your domain could not be contacted. You have been
loged on using cached account information. Changes made to your profile
since you last logged on may not be available.

and a fresh-clean-just-after-installation windows apear
I can see that in the hard disk still are the content of my real desktop,
but they do not apear in the actual desktop

is anything I can/should do to recover my normal log on ?

is any risk that next time i can connect in the office (either by wireless
or lan cable) I will lose any of my iles/configurations ? or everything
should come to normality then ??

(windows xp, SP2 and domain controler provide by the company)

Your best bet would be to contact your IT support person on
his/her emergency number. If you don't know this number then
it's probably time to review the after-hours support arrangements
in your company.

The alternative is to copy your office-based profile folder to your
current profile folder. This is not exactly trivial and it only works
if your logon account has administrative privileges. Launch "My Computer"
and have a look in the folder "c:\Documents and Settings". Now
try to open every folder whose name somehow relates to your
logon name. Drill down in each of these folders. Can you access
them or do you get an "Access denied" message?

for moment I could run as I have, I check and even I do not have the acess
to the programs under start, the programs works fine, and I have full acess
to the good desktop (for the files storaged there), and for Outlook I can
work on the remote-web version for a couple of days

my account does not have fully administrative privileges, that I know, so i
fear i could not do what you propouse me

so my main worries right now, are, what would happend when on Wednesday I
will log on in the company ??, whould everything come to normality ??, or
will I lose any data in my good desktop ?? (i do not care about my fresh-new
desktop)

*** It's hard to say whether things will automatically get back to
*** normal since I'm not entirely sure what's happened. Your
*** pre-weekend data will certainly be there (and if your company-
*** based backup scheme is worth its name, it will also be
*** backed up on an independent medium). This would be a
*** good time to ask your IT person: If I had lost my good
*** desktop data, would you have been able to restore it?

*** To protect yourself against the possibility of your temporary
*** profile folder disappearing once you're back in the office,
*** create a dedicated folder c:\Marcoop and save your files in
*** this folder.
