all incoming mail goes in"deleted " folder instead of "inbox" ?

as above, all incoming mail goes directly into deleted folder instead of
inbox. Why? and how to correct please
 
Any errant rules sending messages to deleted items?
For kicks, what version of Outlook are you using?
