all in wonder pro 128 TV question

I'm thinking of putting together some computer parts, including an ATI all
in wonder pro 128 video card, as a homemade PVR device. Does anyone know
wether the software that comes with ATI for recording shows at a set time
can be used in conjunction with the cable set top box or does the cable have
to go directly to the ATI card? In other words, I want to record a show at 7
p.m. each night and I set up a program to do that, can it run through the
settop box or does it only work if all 127 channels (or whatever it is) are
directly hooked to the computer? Thanks.

You can record from the cable box rf(co-ax) output by setting the AIW card
to record the channel the cable box outputs to(ch3 In my case). The cable
box I'm using does not send stereo audio out through the rf output, only
mono. This cable box has audio(stereo), composite and S-video output
connectors on the back. Attaching them to the purple breakout input
connector on the AIW gives me stereo and a better picture using the S-video.

An added benefit is you can run the rf cable and the other cables to the AIW
and choose which to use in the software.
