Hello again,
After installing IE7 , I am having problems with my hp 1210v all in one
scanner. I cannot get the "HP Director" to open which allows me to choose how
I want the document scanned ex.. as a pix or word document. I can use the
printer, and I can scan but only as a pix not a document... I have tried to
find some sort of update on hp.com but I cant narrow down anything for the
IE7..frustration excists...

Thank you again,
Pup

I had exactly that all-in-one until recently. The main problem is that
it's past the age where H-P is going to devote any more time to it's
software (and that's a blessing in disguise, IMO - see below). They do
have a "work around" for the IE7 problem on their website, but it's
klutzy, and don't hold your breath waiting for a hotfix to download for it.

HP has more different models of printer/scanner/all-in-one than you can
shake a stick at. Too many to keep up with all necessary software
updates after they are three years old or so. And their installation
programs stuff your computer full of bloatware besides. I had mine four
years, and eventually got tired of trying to work around problems
exactly like the one you described, so I eventually junked it. Bought a
Canon with a rebate that brought the price on the all-in-one down to
$70, and it works perfectly with IE7 and everything else. Also some of
the best software I've seen for an all-in-one, and the installation disc
allows you to install only the software you want. I'm sure other
companies have equally good machines. But between mine and the one my
wife had on her computer, I've had it with HP printers. These are my
experiences/opinions only, of course, and YMMV.

PS: If and when you get rid of the HP, absolutely DO go to their
website and download their "cleanup" tool for the software - you'll need it.

I've seen this before. HP Director "seems" to be incompatible with IE
7.
