All in one scanner problem

Had HP G55 scanner, within last month while scanning it cuts off right inch
(approx) or right half of page the full length of page, using Word only
..Other scan programs, ok (Using Small Office, Word 2002). Found if I use
greyscale or black and white (color is default) it's ok. Reloaded scanner
driver, no help, reloaded Small office using replace function, no help,
replaced cable, definate long shot, no help. Purchased new HP 6480 with new
drivers, no help.
I know program is old but it is used often, any ideas. Thx Jim

Instead of scanning directly into Word, scan to an image using one of the
'other programs' and insert it into Word.
