All Commands not working

Hi. A few months ago I posted
<<
I've designed a database that's been great and all well.
A few days ago, I made some adjustments and added new stuff. Very happy and
it worked fine
Opened today and it opens ok but not a single command button works. There is
no error message or VB debugging either. just nothing.
<<
The reply I got wasMS Access 2003 and 2007 have a feature (??) that can disable all code if
there is not a proper certificate for the app or it is not stored in a
"safe" location. Your problem is definitely related to this. To prove
/disprove do this to your self, close your app; go to Tools\Macro\Security
and set the level to "Low"; reopen your app. Bet the code runs again.

I carried this out and it didn't work. So I created a new file and imported
everything over which was a long process.

Now it's happened again with another file. This time it happened while
using it and adding a new form. Suddenly no commands work in any part. All
objects open but commands within them do nothing. .
I tried a couple of other databases and they are fine.

I compacted and repaired but still nothing.
Any help will be very grateful.

Open a code window, and go to Tools >>> References

Check to see if any are missing. Fix as required

Try and compile the database: Debug >>> Compile

Errors should start showing up. If you can't fix them, just the error
numbers here and we'll try and help.

Hi Jen,

Is there a chance that you, or someone else, is opening the databases in
question with Access 2000? The reason I ask is that I have experienced the
exact symptom you report, but only when opening a database that I've worked
on with a later version of Access and then opening it with Access 2000.
MS Access 2003 and 2007 have a feature (??)

The Tools\Macro\Security setting applies to Access 2003 only. This setting
is not available in Access 2002 (thus no code is blocked by Access 2002).
Access 2007 includes the Trust Center. Here is an article I wrote on this
subject:

Dealing With The Trust Center (Access 2007)

I carried this out and it didn't work. So I created a new file and imported
everything over which was a long process.

How long did this take? Generally, importing all objects into a new database
container is a fairly quick process. How many objects (tables, queries,
forms, reports, macros and modules) do you have in your database?

I have noticed this in Access 2007 on my laptop. It must have something to
do with the interaction with Windows, because if I bring another non-Access
window to the front, and drag it around the screen (i.e. repainting Access
behind this window), then return to Access, the buttons work fine.

I only see blanks in Tom's answer - not sure if the response is blank or
that has something to do with the website issues this morning, but I am
hoping someone can clue me in also...
