After installing Win XP Pro Service Pack 2, I notice that "alg.exe" loads.
It is in c:\I386.
I have a software firewall and have turned off the WIN XP firewall.
Can I disable "alg.exe" and how would I do that?
Thanks, CMA

Disable the Application Layer Gateway service in the Control Panel >
Administrative Tools > Services.

That service is needed for the firewall and internet connection sharing.
If you don't use either you can disable it with no problems, as I have
done.
